Zoldo is an authentic valley, partly still wild, with unspoiled nature just a few kilometers from the major roads, large areas where underved roe deer and deer live, open woods and pastures dominated by elegant Dolomite massifs. Those who visit its mountains can enter into spaces between nearby and grandiose rocks, or run into vast openings, with distant massifs, capable of transmitting a wide breath.
In the summer the valley turns into a fascinating destination for high-altitude excursions, on the Pelmo, on the Civetta or on the Moiazza group. Among the many possible destinations, the climb at the foot of the Pelmetto allows you to see the footsteps of the Dinosaurs, footprints of prehistoric animals dating back to 250 million years ago. In winter it is a destination for downhill skiers, mountaineering, cross-country skiing and, thanks to the new Palafavera platform, biathlon. It is a paradise of fresh and dusty snow, ideal also for those who want to discover the most beautiful itineraries with a snowshoeing, or simply pamper themselves in the heat of the restaurants and open shelters of the area.
Val di Zoldo is one of the most significant areas of the UNESCO Dolomites, a World Heritage Site, for geological and landscape reasons. The mountains that frame them contain rocks capable of projecting those who frequent them through deep time, on a journey of around 150 million years. This incredible geological heritage has created the backbone of the current landscape.
