The Trinkstube – a large, entirely frescoed and barrel-vaulted street level room – originated in 1526 in the building that today houses the Zieglauer pharmacy.
It is located in the middle of the via Centrale in Brunico. The load-bearing walls date to the mid-13th century, date of the earliest settlement here, known as “apud Bruneke” (1256). At the time, the Trinkstube provided a convivial meeting point for the nobility and bourgeoisie. It is very well preserved today.
