Vena Beach comprises the stretch of coastline immediately following the Scalaccia, and is separated from the latter by the sea and the Draghetti Cliffs. To the south on the other hand is Vedova Beach, although there is no clear dividing line between the two beaches, as one is the natural continuation of the other.
The only way of reaching it is via a trail or from the sea. Here the presence of Mount Conero starts to violently make itself felt, even if there are still some bastions of civilisation, with a few small caves (carved out of the rock, like along the Grotta Azzurra, the Passetto Caves, the Scogli Lunghi and the Scalaccia) scattered along this stretch of coast.
But here there is no doubt that nature reigns supreme. Vena Beach can be considered the first real beach on the coast of Ancona (if we don’t take the relatively unknown Guasco and Cappuccini Beaches into account), made up of pebbles that are easier to walk on than the rocks or large angular boulders of the Scalaccia. On the cliffs is the Pietralacroce district.
