The Abbey of San Guglielmo al Goleto is a religious complex in Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi (AV). Founded in the 12th century by Saint William of Vercelli, it experienced a long period of great splendour that was followed by abandonment, as demonstrated by the ruin it is today. The various structures of the complex are spread out in different areas. The two-storey, Romanesque Torre Febronia was built to defend the monastery; the Chiesa Inferiore, dating to 1200, has two naves divided by monolithic columns; the Chapel of St. Luke built in 1255 to house a relic of the evangelist and the Chiesa Grande built in the 18th century by Domenico Antonio Vaccaro.
