Built in the second half of the 14th century by the Guinigi family, the Tower is 45 metres high and is distinguished from all the buildings in the historic centre by the trees growing on its top. It is a typical example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture in Lucca, built in terracotta and adorned with three-mullioned windows, four-mullioned windows, coats of arms, cornices and plaques.
