The Church of Santa Maria di Loreto, built in the Middle Ages and extended in 1620, is located in the historical centre of the municipality of Montenero Val Cocchiara (IS).
The classical entrance portal is framed with a simple stone façade, flanked to the right by a bell tower with two frontal arches for the bells. A portico with 17 arched windows provides another access to the building. The three-naved interior is simple, with a few sacred images on the walls. Decorating the church are 12 altars from the 1700s of multi-coloured marble, a inlaid wooden ceiling and a pipe organ by Giuseppe de Marino dating to 1721. A crypt beneath the main altar holds a reliquary of St. Clement, brought here in 1776 from the Catacombs of San Calisto in Rome.
