The Marconi Express is a monorail train that links the FS train station in Bologna, part of the High Speed Train network, to Guglielmo Marconi Airport, one of the top 10 airports in Italy per number of passengers. The elevated electric train covers the 5km distance in 7.5 minutes, stopping halfway at the Lazzaretto station. Automatically driven, with over one third of its energy requirements provided by photovoltaic panels, the people mover can carry 50 people in its 2 compartments.
