The complex of the Former Tobacco Drying Barns is an exhibition area which houses some of the works by artist Alberto Burri (1915-1995) created between 1979 and 1993 (in addition to the Collection housed in Palazzo Albizzini).
The Tobacco Autonomous Farm was built between the late 1950s and the mid-1960s for drying tropical tobacco produced in the area of Città di Castello, and dismantled in the 1970s. In 1978 Alberto Burri was allowed to use it as a workshop for the creation of large-format artworks.
The exhibition space, inaugurated in July 1990, hosts 128 artworks including painting cycles and monumental sculptures, which are also exhibited outside on the lawn.
In March 2017 the Albizzini Palace Foundation launched a third museum in a space of 4,000+ square metres.
