The Officine Grandi Riparazioni of Turin is a disused industrial complex once specialised in maintenance of railway vehicles that closed in the early 1990s. Unfolding in an H shape, the structure occupies 20,000 covered sqm which, in addition to the offices and the outside area, brings the overall total to 35,000 sqm.
Acquired by Fondazione CRT in 2013, reclaiming work has made OGR today a largescale space for exhibitions, performances and innovation. An area of 12,000 sqm is dedicated to OGR Tech, an innovation hub investing in start-ups dedicated to scientific, technological and industrial research, with 499 work stations and 15 meeting rooms. The 9,000 sqm of the multi-functional areas of OGR Cult, meanwhile, host exhibitions, performances, concerts, theatre and dance events; while the main room, the “Duomo” which is 19m tall is most suitable for workshops and conferences.
