The Naviglio Grande is the first Milanese and Lombard hydraulic work dating back to the 12th century, later improved for navigation by Leonardo da Vinci.Initially used for the irrigation of fields and later furrowed by barges for the transport of goods. In today's times, on the banks of the Naviglio Grande, pedestrianized, every evening the Milanese nightlife lights up: restaurants (perhaps on an old moored and transformed boat), bars, pubs and taverns, night clubs attract thousands of people. The district has two faces, one at night and one during the day and is still full of artists' studios, artisan shops, picturesque corners and small illuminated chapels on the corners.
