MUSE - Museo della Scienza in Trento is housed in a building designed by architect Renzo Piano, west of the city centre.
The building has four floors, each focussing on a specific thematic area: the history of man (first); the history of the Dolomites (second); Alpine biodiversity (third); the mountains (fourth). The ground floor hosts Maxi Ooh! - a sensory space aimed at children, while the basement has remains and fossils of extinct specimens and a tropical greenhouse that reproduces the rainforest of the Udzungawa mountains.
It is one of the most visited museums in Italy.
