With the realization of the new harbour, the Marina of Rimini has become one of the most beautiful and well-equipped tourist ports on the Adriatic, a favourite destination for sailors.
In the new residential district, there is a building that resembles a ship's prow, a tower surmounted by a fish-shaped silhouette, the skeleton of a ship, and a fountain that resembles the interior of an ammonite. The overhead pedestrian pathway over more than a kilometre long, features several architectural elements, including a masonry balcony, a wooden bridge, a steel walkway and a stone walkway.
A winter destination of Fellini’s Vitelloni, the Palata is illuminated in the evening by the lights of the fishing boats that return to the harbor. On the quay there is a 200m walkway built right on the sea. In summer you can admire the city from a privileged point of view: the 60m high Ferris Wheel which has now become one of the symbols of the Adriatic coast. For film lovers, the palata has been the site of the solitary and melancholy walks of Professor Alain Delon, in the film Indian Summer by Valerio Zurlini.
