Bosa is the main center of the Planargia region. Its first image is the old district of Sa Costa, whose colorful houses climb the slopes of the Serravalle Hill dominated by the 12th-century Malaspina Castle.
The River Temo, crossed by Ponte Vecchio, is the only navigable river in Sardinia. The Lungotemo promenade runs along the ancient tanneries, well known in Italy from mid 1800 to early 1900 for the production of high quality leather as proved by the Museo delle Conce.
In the Village you will find the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the town's Cathedral, featuring beautiful frescoes. Within the walls of Serravalle Castle stands the Church of Our Lady de Sos Regnos Altos, embellished with a set of frescoes dating back to 1370.
The Romanesque Church of San Pietro Extramuros stands a short distance from the village, in the rural locality of Calmedia. It used to be the centre of Bosa Vetus, before the population transmigrated in the district of Sa Costa (Bosa Nova).
On the mouth of River Temo there are the fluvial port and Bosa Marina. the beaches of S'Abba Druche, Portu Managu, Turas and Cumpoltitu, the Bio-marine Park of Capo Marrargiu and the Nature Reserve of Badde Aggiosu and Monte Mannu complete the scenery of coastal beauty.
