The Grand Hotel Dobbiaco is located at the entrance to the Landro valley and is surrounded by a large park.
Work began on the “Südbahnhotel” (later renamed the Grand Hotel) on 25 August 1877. The original project came from Wilhelm Ritter von Flattich who aimed at exploiting the new railway line from Vienna to Innsbruck. Over the years, the structure has been expanded several times.
Currently, it houses the headquarters of the Euregio Cultural Centre, with the imposing Gustav Mahler hall, which can accommodate up to 460 people, often used for concerts and conferences, and guesthouse; the Alta Pusteria music school; the Tre Cime visitor centre; and the “Jugenddienst Hochpustertal” youth hostel.
