Plot
1899. A 38 year old American psychiatrist (widowed and childless) travels to a remote plantation in Colombia to help a boy with behavioural difficulties. The boy’s mother has called her, worried by the accusations from the local priest and farmworkers – tormented by mysterious events – that the boy is possessed by the devil. The doctor arrives to discover that the boy’s mother is dead and that even his father is beginning to believe he is possessed. While she attempts to start psychoanalysis with the child, the terrible events increase and her “cure” becomes a race to save the little boy from the farmworkers’ fury… and perhaps from himself too, as she begins to believe that everything happening on the farm is linked to something horrible and supranatural.
