The Apuan Alps Regional Park comprises a large variety of mountainous and hilly landscapes as well as the famous white marble quarries. It covers approximately 20,000 hectares between the Versilia and Garfagnana, and is home to a wild and unspoiled karst subsoil: there are 1,300 known caves, including the Antro del Corchia in Stazzema, the deepest abyss in Italy, the Grotte del Vento, and the Buca d’Equi Terme.
