The Bridges of Vara, which were built at the end of the XIX century, were the main piece of railway infrastructure for the ‘Marmifera’ line linking the port of Marina di Carrara to the quarries. Today, this former rail bridge is a road used for large means of transport specialised in transporting blocks of marble.
