Church of San Valentino – Castelrotto

Description

The Church of San Valentino is located in the territory of Castelrotto (Bolzano), in the meadows above Siusi. Its isolated position offers a wide view of the town and a spectacular view of the Sciliar massif. The first historical evidence regarding the existence of this church dates to the 13^th century.
It houses a lovely altar and some frescoes. The exterior walls are decorated with frescoes of the Adoration of the Magi, Saint Christopher, Saint Valentine, the Shroud of Veronica and a Crucifixion partially ruined by the opening of a window.
