North of Rome, Macchiatonda Nature Reserve stretches from the coast of Santa Marinella to the hills of Tolfa, half way between the Castle of Santa Severa and the Nature Oasis of Torre Flavia. It extends across approx. 250 hectares with marshes, fresh and saltwater ponds, sand dunes and a thick elm forest.
