Located on the Riviera di Chiaia, just steps from the sea, Villa Pignatelli dates to 1826 when Admiral Ferdinando Acton commissioned a residence from the Neapolitan architect Pietro Valente. Since then, the villa has undergone various transformations, tied to the many families who lived there until the arrival of the Pignatelli family, whose name it still bears, who gave it to the State in 1952.
Today it houses the Museum Principe Diego Aragona Pignatelli Cortés and the Museum of the carriages of villa Pignatelli.
