Located at just over 1,000m above sea level, the laghetto di Fiè is an artificial basin created in the 16th century by Leonhard von Völs-Colonna as a fish farm, although fishing is now prohibited here. Dominated by the Sciliar massif and flanked by fir trees, it comprises a protected area composed of reeds.
In summer it is used for swimming, while in winter its surface freezes over making it a destination for tourists and residents of neighbouring municipalities. It offers two private piers and a beach resort with adjoining restaurant.
