The Church of St. Mark stands in the square of that name in the historic centre of Rovereto (Trento). The building dates to 1440 when the city was subject to the doges of Venice and therefore dedicated to the Venetian patron saint.
The façade was renovated in 1950 and has a baroque front modified into an elliptical tympanum, which features a relief of the lion of St. Mark. The interior features a wide central nave with three chapels on the left, decorated with frescoes and gilded plasterwork. There are nine 18th-century marble altars. A fresco in the presbytery depicts the city’s consecration to St. Maria Ausiliatrice in 1703.
The church also houses the 16th century Rococo organ played by a young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on 26 December 1769 in his first Italian concert.
