The Roverella, a centuries-old oak tree, is located in Pozzi di Brienza (PZ) over 1000m above sea level. Estimated to be aged between 400 and 1,000 years old, it is one of the twenty oldest plants in Italy and one of the oldest in Europe. It takes more than seven people to ring its trunk. The Roverella survived an arson attempt in 2009 and has since been protected by a fence. There is a well-equipped picnic area nearby.
