Monte Busca is located in the Appennines that straddle Tuscany and Romagna between Val Montone and Val Tramazzo and is characterised by a blazing fountain of methane that has been active since before the 16th century, wrongly referred to as a “volcano”. It reaches an altitude of 740m, rising in the area of Inferno, in the municipality of Tredozio (FC) which is approximately 15 minutes away.
Behind an abandoned farmhouse, there is a heap of stones on a knoll from which a flame constantly flares. The volcano is surrounded by a picturesque valley.
