Aboca Museum, an exhibition route that celebrates the therapeutic power of plants, has been housed since 2002 in Palazzo Bourbon del Monte, Sansepolcro (province of Arezzo). This Renaissance palace, the result of combining various units on previous, probably Medieval, buildings, was erected alongside the Church of St. Roche at the end of the 1600s and was the residence of the counts Bourbon del Monte for an entire century.
The museum was established to research and share the ancient traditions of herbal use and extends over 12 rooms which display elements attesting to the ancient art of herbology and plant development, including: the botanical library conserving precious herbariums and books on medicinal botany, ancient mortars, ceramics, glass and reproductions of laboratories from the past.
