An inhospitable area in the Carnic Prealps, on the edge of the Parco naturale delle Dolomiti Friulane (Natural Park of the Friuli Dolomites), is deeply marked by the waters of the Meduna river. For millennia, throughout the past, irregular slopes created a watercourse studded by iridescent beaches, a little territorial paradise where the sprays of torrential water finally calm, forming the incredible, emerald-green natural pools known as the pozze smeraldine.
