Bagno Fontana was built in the early 20th century on the Lanterna pier, a stone's throw from the centre of Trieste. Over the years, the establishment was renovated and expanded, becoming the "Ausonia" in the 1930s, frequented by generations of Triestini.
Modern, even futuristic, for its time, the Ausonia seaside bathing establishment is equipped with all comforts, swimming pools, diving boards, solarium, restaurants and massage areas. Measuring 6,700 m2, it can accommodate more than 2,000 people.
Today it is frequented by a loyal older clientele and a younger audience who enjoy its accessibility, wellness treatments and children’s entertainment.
