Collio is an enchanting, relaxing landscape of rolling hills dotted with wine shops, wineries and cellars where some of the best white wines in the world and full-bodied red wines are produced: its main urban centre is Cormons (Gorizia), a Habsburg-style town on the border with Slovenia. The microclimate here, a short distance from the mountains and the sea, is absolutely unique in terms of ventilation and temperature, and blends perfectly with the "ponka", the soil characteristic of Collio, ideal for vines.
