Shot in black and white, Ti mangio il cuore is a gangster movie with a great, tragic love affair at its heart, based on the book by Carlo Bonini and Giuliano Foschini (published in Italy by Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Editore).

A place forgotten by God, the high plateaus of the Gargano range are fought over by crime clans who seem to come from a remote past. It is a land reminiscent of the Far West ruled by the spirit of “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”. The ancient feud between two rival families is rekindled by a forbidden love: that between Andrea, reluctant heir of the Malatesta family, and Marilena, the beautiful wife of the Camporeale boss.
