The Museion – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Bolzano was built in 2008 to a design by the Berlin architectural studio KSV – Krüger, Schuberth, Vandreike. The distinctive glass façade provides brightness and transparency to the interiors.
The front façades of the cube act as a connecting element between the old town of Bolzano and her more modern districts, making the Museion a spatial and symbolic link in the city's architecture. The interiors are characterized by fluid openings and passages distributed on different levels, with spaces for exhibitions, events and educational workshops, a library, a cafeteria and a shop.
