Built in 1358 by the Abbot Ademaro, who defeated the Tiburtini in battle, the Bridge of St. Francis is located near the Convent of the same name and links the two banks of the River Aniene at the entrance to the town of Subiaco (RM). Built entirely in blocks of cardellino, an ochre-coloured local stone, the bridge is perfectly preserved, with a single arch that is 37m long and 20m high and a guard tower on one side.
