Built in the early 20th century and still partially functioning, the Fies hydroelectric power station was transformed in 2002 into a laboratory for lovers of theatre, cinema, communication and the performing arts in general.
Located just kilometres from Dro in a stunning natural landscape on the bank of the Sarca river surrounded by the Marocche landslide, the station is a significant example of industrial archaeology in the region, transformed from a producer of electricity to a factory of art. The project aims to become a point of reference for contemporary culture in the province of Trento and Italy, by bringing the most innovative forms of entertainment to the area. Great names from the theatre world stage shows here that are specifically designed for the plant, alongside moments of poetry readings and dance performances.
Three projects can be carried out simultaneously, thanks to the partnership with Hydro Dolomiti Energia, in addition to the young artists residencies, within a system able to manage every phase of a project, from the planning to the vision, production and co-production of national and international artistic works and spectacular events in partnership with prestigious European entities. The station hosts events, performances, concerts, exhibits, site-specific meetings.
