Description

Villa Piccolo is located on a hill looming over a plain of fruit orchards just kilometres from Capo d’Orlando (ME). Since 1932, it has been the residence of the noble Piccolo di Calanovella family who were related to the Princes of Lampedusa as cousins of Giuseppe Tomasi, author of The Leopard. The villa is today a museum. Lucio, a poet and intellectual, and Agata, a passionate botanist, were most responsible for the collections of artworks, the vast library of over 10,000 books, the prints and watercolours and the magnificent garden which features rare examples of Mediterranean flora.
