The picturesque residential centre of Fiè allo Sciliar is situated at the foot of the Sciliar massif, on a small rocky spur that offers a view over the Isarco valley over to Castel Presule and up to the Sciliar peak.
Modern architecture in the village has been sympathetically integrated into the original layout and ancient buildings. The parish church with the Chapel of St. Peter on the Hill is situated on the highest point, where goats and deer graze nearby. Fiè is well known for its links with hay, especially for the tradition of curative hay baths.
