The Palazzo Pubblico of Siena, which houses the council offices and the Civic Museum, dates to the late 13th century. It can be found on Piazza del Campo next to the Torre del Mangia. The palazzo conserves masterpieces from the Golden era of Sienese art, including the fresco cycle The Allegory of Good and Bad Government by Ambrogio Lorenzetti, famous works by Simone Martini (including his Maestà), Duccio di Buoninsegna, Sodoma and Beccafumi.
