A leading industrial plant in 20th century Italy, the former Reggiane factory was active in the first half of the century in the production of railways, artillery ammunition and fighter planes, reaching 10,000 employees between the two world wars. The site, active from 1904 to 2008, is adjacent to the Reggio Emilia train station. When production was transferred, the former industrial area, which includes about 20 warehouses and three office buildings, was abandoned, becoming a fertile space for numerous street artists. The area is presently being reclaimed and requalified.
