The former Preventorio Infantile Chiapponi is a building with a large garden and parkland in the municipality of Bettola (PC). The structure was built in the late 1800s to treat children affected by tuberculosis and for the prevention of respiratory diseases in general. It is divided into three storeys with a small chapel and mini sacristy on the second floor.
In 1944, when the building was no longer in use because of the war, it was requisitioned by Partisan groups and housed a hospital until it was forcibly emptied and occupied by the Nazi troops. Following WWII, it once again accepted patients with respiratory diseases until it was closed in the late 1970s. It has been in a consistent decline for decades.
