The Biblioteca delle Oblate (Library of the Oblates) is housed in the 14th century former Convent of the Oblates in the historical centre of Florence. It has a collection of approximately 100,000 volumes, of which 40,000 are on open shelves.
Spread over two storeys, the building also features: the museum of prehistory; the elegant cloister, the only one in the city to have three floors; and the panoramic rooftop terrace with a view of the Duomo. The “Children and Young Adults” section of the library (for readers aged 0-14 and their accompaniers) occupies about 300 sqm on the ground floor.
