Piazza Dante and its gardens are situated outside the train station in Trento. In the centre is a monument to Dante Alighieri, made in 1896 to present a symbol of Italian culture at a time when Trentino was under the dominion of the Austro-Hungarian empire. The park is mostly conifers and features a pretty lake with swans.
