The area of Capojale has grown up around the Capojale Canal, which links Varano Lake to the Adriatic Sea, and is the outermost point of the Isola di Varano which ends with the Foce Varano Canal in Foce Varano, in the area of Ischitella. Before the canal was built, the area was crossed by the Focecchia, a small waterway.
Capojale is home to part of Nature Reserve of the Isola di Varano.
