After a brief start in London, the story shifts to the streets of Taranto. In comparison with Father and Son, here the archaeological museum has a minor role while the city and its past are given more emphasis. The player can explore several rooms in the museum and some of the artefacts conserved there (the head of a woman in terracotta from IV century B.C.E.; the Athlete of Taranto; the reproduction of a head of Hercules): walk along the roads of the historical centre of the city: stop at Porto and the temple of Poseidon in Piazza Castello. The action also makes a brief visit to the cemetery and the Messapian walls of Manduria. At the end, there is time for a journey through time when ancient Taranto is brought to life.

Promotional video game produced by National Archaeological Museum of Taranto (MArTA), in collaboration with MiBAC. Past for Future takes its place in the genre inaugurated in 2017 by the National Archaeological Museum of Naples with Father and Son, in turn inspired by the experience of the English writer Sean Wenham and his The End of the World. Past for Future is an adventure that develops horizontally, set in a city in Apulia and its surroundings. The artistic direction, game structure, atmosphere and themes echo those of Father and Son. The main character, William, undertakes a journey to Italy searching for a mysterious woman who has disappeared. The title permits the unlocking of extra levels when the player is physically close to MArTA.
