Bolognini Castle is located in the municipality of Sant'Angelo Lodigiano (LO). Construction of the building began in the 13th century, as a military structure in classic Lombard style and, in 1383, became the residence of Beatrice Regina della Scala, wife of Bernabò Visconti, who added the Torre Mastra and the double arched windows.
The quadrangular castle has four corner towers and conserves traditional furnishings, paintings and ceramics, distributed over 24 rooms. The significant library has 2,000 books while the armoury displays 500 pieces. The castle today houses three museums: Morando Bolognini Museum, the Museum of Bread and the Lombard Museum of Agricultural History.
