The Villa da Schio complex is located in Castelgomberto, several km from Vicenza. The building was commissioned by the Piovene family in the second half of the 1600s from Antonio Pizzocaro who followed the Palladian style. The central building of the villa has a classical structure typical of the Veneto: the residence develops around an inner courtyard surrounded by a colonnade with barns and a chapel.
The perfectly conserved elegant interiors are decorated with stucco work and antique furnishing, spread across various rooms from the central salon to the rooms dedicated to specific uses. The inner, quadrangular courtyard has a circular flower bed and fountain at its centre. An imposing portico wraps three sides of the courtyard while the façade of the villa stands on the fourth side.
An extensive 18th century park unwinds across land filled with ancient plants, wide green spaces, terraces and biblical and mythological statues. The villa overlooks an Italian garden with box hedges and lemon trees, flanked by the “peschiera”, a stone pool fed by the waters of the Poscola spring.
The villa is available as a location for events of all types and open to the public from April to October (opening times vary with the season).
