Villa Crotta de' Manzoni, the furthest north of the Venetian villas, is located in the main square of Agordo (Belluno). The building, which overlooks the public garden of the "Broi", is the result of a succession of modifications: the structure, which existed at least since 1365, was purchased in the late 16th century by the Crotta family, who extended it; it passed in the 19th century to the de' Manzoni family, great art lovers, who embellished and further modified it.
The villa has a more formal and urban aspect facing the square, while the more hidden side, overlooking a large private park, looks like a typical country residence. Other notable elements include the garden, surrounded by 15 classical-style statues, a portico and the "toresèla", a neo-Gothic-style building detached from the main body.
The stables house the Luxottica Eyewear Museum.
