The Villa Reale of Marlia is located in the municipality of Capannori and is one of the most famous villas in the area surrounding Lucca. The Villa was bought by Lucchese nobles Olivieri and Lelio Orsetti, who restructured it, adding a magnificent Baroque garden adorned with water features, water lilies, basins and statues. In 1806 the Villa and the park became the property of Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi, who gave it the name ‘Villa Reale’.
