The Villa Medicea in Cerreto Guidi (FI) was buil, between 1564 and 1567, for Cosimo I de’ Medici, as a hunting lodge. The building is characterised by two unusual brick staircase ramps attributed to Bernardo Buontalenti which give the villa the look of a fortress. Since 2002, it has the Museo Storico della Caccia e del Territorio, a collection of hunting and target weaponry from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The villa is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
