Inaugurated in 2013, Ponte Bailey (Bailey Bridge) in Passo Segni crosses the river Reno in the municipality of Baricella (BO), joining via Savena Abbandonata (on the Bologna side) with via Penne (Ferrara side), thereby linking the two provinces, and ending on via Imperiale.
This type of construction, invented by the British engineer Donald Bailey for military purposes, uses modular elements, in this case creating three arches with a total length of approx. 80m. The bridge is topped by the 1950s wooden walkway from the original bridge which was demolished because of its structural problems.
