The Nicolis Museum in Villafranca di Verona is an exhibition dedicated to the history of technology and design in the 20th century, created in 2000 by a Veronese businessman, Luciano Nicolis.
The museum comprises 10 collections with a unique approach: 200+ vintage cars, 110 bicycles, 100 motorbikes; 500 recorders, cameras and movie cameras, 100 musical instruments and jukeboxes, 100 typewriters, planes, and flight instruments, a military area with artefacts from WWI and WWII, model cars, trains and plans. There is also a rare collection of driving instruments that includes 100+ steering wheels from sophisticated Formula 1 single seaters, touring and sports cars and a section dedicated to the engines of motorbikes, cars and planes. These innumerable objects, the product of human engineering, are displayed in anthological, historical and stylistic itineraries.
The museum was awarded the prestigious Museum of the Year award by the international experts of Magazine Octane at The Historic Motoring Awards in London in 2018.
