The building housing the Casa della Cultura of Tresigallo, initially Casa del Balilla and later Casa della G.I.L. (Gioventù Italiana Littorio), was designed in 1933 and completed in 1938 and intended as a place of physical-ideological training for young people.
Inside there was a gymnasium, an office for pre-military education and a driving school. The voluminous steel trusses and the interpenetration of the volumes gave the internal space an austere and imposing appearance which incorporated cult elements of the Regime, such as the spirit and body of the Fascist Youth.
Restored in 2006, it is today the Casa della Cultura, housing the Municipal Library in Tresigallo, in the municipality of Tresignana (Ferrara) established in 2019 with the merger of Tresigallo and Formignana.
