In Rome Enrico Giusti works for a company that buys out companies headed for bankruptcy. He travels a lot (we see him in scenes at Fiumicino airport) to meet his clients, who usually have extravagant hobbies that he must go along with to gain their trust.
He has a good relationship with Carlo Bernini, his boss’s son, with whom we see him in a canoe on lake Garda, in Riva del Garda (TN), and is gaining his boss’s trust, with the latter inviting him to a team-building day at the natural caves of the Grotta Giusti thermal baths in Monsumanno (PT). Some scenes also feature the 45-hectare park around the caves, which was designed by landscape architect Pietro Porcinai, with its centuries-old trees, conifers, bay trees, hydrangeas, camellias and other flowering plants dating back to the early 20th century.
Some of the scenes in the film were filmed at the Gigli shopping centre in Scandicci (FI) and the Valsugana shopping centre in Pergine (TN).
On his many business trips, a new client takes Enrico to Trento. Here Levi’s company has been left in the hands of two teenagers, Filippo and Camilla, 18 and 13 years-old respectively, after the death of their parents.
The news of their parents death comes while young Filippo is out at lake Leno.
In Trento, Enrico meets Filippo in a bar as he is crossing Piazza Duomo on his bike, against the backdrop of San Virgilio Cathedral. This desperate young man, who is looking to self-destruct after losing his job, has Neptune’s fountain behind him. Meanwhile Achinoam, the girl Enrico’s brother dumped, takes the train at the city’s station.
At the end of the film, we see Enrico riding down strada dei Laghi di Lamar in Terlago (TN) on his bike with a group of teenagers on skateboards, who previously stopped to admire Santo di Lamar lake.
